Culutre Night 2019

No longer available
GOMA Gallery of Modern Art Waterford invites you to join us for a series of Culture Night Waterford events including music in GOMA's garden with the incredibly talented Birds of Burden from 9 PM until 11 PM (free event).

Birds Of Burden bring you melodic musings and internal ramblings from Waterford City, Ireland. The band, formed around the songwriting partnership of Eoin Dalton (Hollerin’ Pine) and Joe Meagher (El Hgado No Existe), is completed by Éadaoin Breathnach (Rigout Productions Theatre Company), Heather Troy-Whelan (Broken, Mufasa, Found on the Floor) and Paul McDonald (Blindsite).
The band’s sound ranges from driving high-tempo rock to meandering hypnotic airs which interlace to form a highly personal, diary-like lyrical content, taking the folk ballad tradition as a jumping off point.

Their debut album, ‘A Conspiracy Of Dust’, had its live premiere at Waterford’s Imagine Festival in October 2018, and is available now on Bandcamp, all streaming platforms, and on limited edition 12″ vinyl.

Other activities as part of Culture Night Waterford at GOMA Gallery of Modern Art Waterford include:
— Robert Downey’s Exhibition: 5–10 PM
— Culchie Chickens with KiKi (Children’s Workshop): 6–7 PM
— Meet and Greet with GOMA Artists (Open Studio): 5–6 PM
— Animal Balloon Making with Laura McNamara: 7–8 Pm
